These parts are for the canisters used in Toyota Prius to absorb fuel vapors in compliance with US emissions regulations.
This difficult-to-form shape was made possible by a progressive stamping process, regulating the feed rate of the stainless steel.

Aluminum battery case for hybrid vehicles

This aluminum battery case houses the lithium-ion batteries used in cars like the Toyota Priusα. It is formed in a draw process using aluminum sheets. This application of a drawing and ironing process for aluminum enabled us to successfully form a lightweight shape of tailored thickness.
